- Why KYMIRA benefits beginners & elite athletes
The benefits of our products are universal – everyone will experience performance and recovery improvements. KYMIRA technology helps elite athletes and absolute beginners.
What is KYMIRA Technology?
All of the products in the KYMIRA range have KYnergy technology built into the fabric. KYnergy technology features specially designed fibres which contain carefully selected natural minerals. These minerals are selected for their ability to absorb otherwise wasted energy from the wearer and surrounding light. The energy is then converted it into a targeted region of the infrared light spectrum, which causes an array of positive biological changes.
Essentially the technology harnesses the energy your body is emitting and converts it into infrared light, which is then emitted back into your body.So How Does the Infrared Benefit me?
There are a wide range of benefits to infrared which we will round up here. If you want further detail on each of these, head to the ‘science ' section on our website where each of these benefits will be explained in further detail. For the purposes of the blog post, we're giving a simple overview…
Improved circulation via increased nitric oxide production
Nitric oxide is a vasodilator, which means it expands blood vessels and allows more blood to pass through them. This helps to improve exercise performance and improves recovery time post-exercise.
Improved respiratory efficiency
When you're wearing KYMIRA clothing evidence shows you consume less oxygen to achieve the same work output. To use a car analogy, what you're doing is increasing your miles per gallon. You're still travelling the same distance at the same speed whilst using fewer resources to get there.
Improved pain relief
The most common exercise-induced pain that beginners feel is called DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness). This is causes by muscle damage at a cellular level – it's completely normal and temporary. Anecdotal evidence (which is currently being scientifically tested) has shown KYMIRA technology reduces feelings of DOMS post-training. Interestingly, there could be evidence showing that training in KYMIRA clothing may even reduce DOMS in the first place.
Improved energy production
The chemical energy that powers our cells is called ATP. KYMIRA clothing allows the molecules that help to produce ATP into the mitochondria of the cells, improving ATP production. This means we have more energy to carry out movement.
Thermoregulation
For the outdoor exerciser, temperature control can be a challenge. The KYMIRA clothing helps to regulate temperature more effectively than standard fabrics. In cooler temperatures our fabrics warm up quicker and store thermal energy 63% longer than equivalent weight fabrics. In hotter climates they dry 65% quicker, cooling the body by evaporation. KYMIRA fabrics have been worn in temperatures from -35 to +48 degrees Celsius.
SPF & Antimicrobial
Additionally, for the outdoor exerciser, KYMIRA kit offers in built SPF protection of at least SPF35 plus has an antimicrobial effect, keeping you fresh even with heavy exercising and use. Both of these effects are due to the addition of Quartz Dioxide within the KYnergy fabric. The Quartz Dioxide converts short wave UV rays into longer length waves that are less harmful, offering the SPF protection. These longer waves are beneficial to humans but harmful to microbes, providing the antimicrobial effect.
Why KYMIRA Benefits Beginners Even More
Let's look at this practically. When you're beginning on your fitness journey, your body hasn't undergone all of the physiological changes that a person with decades of training has experienced.
Your connective tissues haven't grown stronger. Your capillary density isn't there. Your cardiovascular system hasn't adapted to endurance exercise yet. Your ability to recover quickly isn't there. Your substrate use hasn't adapted and your sport-specific muscle strength hasn't reached the level it will need to. Your This isn't your fault – you just haven't had time on your side. With KYMIRA technology though, you have a helping hand to ease the physiological transition. The KYMIRA clothing will make training easier, because of the reasons mentioned above. Your post-exercise recovery time will be shortened. You'll experience a fraction of the physical discomfort that you would do otherwise. It's like having a shortcut to success in lots of ways. The benefits of our products are universal – everyone will experience performance and recovery improvements, but the less experience you have with exercise, the greater these benefits will be because you'll feel the negative aspects of exercise (DOMS, post-exercise fatigue, lack of energy during exercise etc) more acutely than the more experienced trainee.
