We are so proud to announce that our very own KYMIRA Founder & CEO: Tim Brownstone has recently won the Male Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2021 in the Thames Valley Business and Community Awards. A huge achievement considering the over one hundred applications for the award.
On winning the award Tim said:
"Winning the Male Entrepreneur of the Year Award from the TVCBA's means a lot to me. Growing KYMIRA across the past 8 years has taken hard work and dedication on my part as well as my team's. So while this award may have been given to me, I accept it on behalf of the whole team at KYMIRA, without whom the company and I wouldn't be where we are today".
Tim's win came from the Judges recognising his hard work and effort and his contributions to the larger Thames Valley community. Tim launched KYMIRA in 2013 after 5 years of initial R&D. After a small success with Kickstarter, working from a small portacabin and being pretty much entirely customer funded with only a couple of employees, Tim is now the CEO of one of the world's leading e-textiles companies making real positive and revolutionary changes in the world of sport and medical.
The Judges said on Tim's win:
"[We were] very impressed with what Tim has accomplished. His business has grown from a Reading University lab start up in 2013, to now be named one of the top five leading smart textiles companies in the world. Such exciting developments and incredible innovations!"
We would like to thank our supporters, the KYMIRA Team and the Thames Valley Awards for the recognition.
